Last week, I tried signing up for ID. Wish I hadn't.
I messed it up by creating a new online usps account. My brain is a bit fuzzy from meds. I tried signing up on my regular account. According to my online accounts, I DON'T HAVE ID. yet, I get a letter from USPS welcoming me to ID, with an opt-out code. I'm totally confused. I called the service 800 number, but keep getting cut off cause it's Sunday.
Not getting any email scans. Do you think this would effect my regular mail delivery? I haven't gotten mail since Wednesday. I really need my mail. I'm a nervous wreck about this.
And mad at myself for doing it.

What happens when you sign in with the info you have for your account?
Do you have TWO seperate accounts (by mistake) using the SAME email? Your account is based on your email.

(31,112 posts)Why do you think you have TWO separate accounts?
XanaDUer2
(10,667 posts)One paper welcome, one email. 2 sep "accounts"
Eliot Rosewater
(31,112 posts)THREE emails from them daily instead of two, so I think you will be OK.
Wait a few days and see if you start getting them, but if you sign in to your account with only one email, you would have only one account.
I am pretty sure no matter how much you screw up (and I dont think you did) your ID it will NOT affect actual delivery to the box.

(5,546 posts)Receiving the daily emails with an image of each piece of mail. I absolutely love it, you will too.

(1,288 posts)Getting the images doesn't affect your actual mail. (If that's what you were asking . . . I may be a .)

(10,667 posts)I screwed up physical mail delivery by messing up ID. I suffer from anxiety

(21,765 posts)Mail these days pass through a machine that takes a snapshot of every piece sorted. The only thing ID does is allow you to see the images that the sorting machine uses.
Hand-sorted mail won't show up on ID.
But you don't need to worry about it stopping or delaying your mail. It is only a "window" into the sorting program so you can see what's being processed. Like being able to see your pizza being made through the window at a pizzeria, it doesn't affect the process.

(10,667 posts)Hopefully, I'll get some tomorrow. I mean, I got zero, not even junk mail

(31,112 posts)and asked them if there was an issue, there wasn't. It was just a coincidence.
Do not panic, you will be fine. I have anxiety like that also, so I hear you.

(115,693 posts)All it is is an optional service where they scan your incoming mail and email you the photos so you know in advance what mail you will be getting in the next day or two. Not signing up will make no difference at all wrt the actual delivery.

(10,667 posts)Is online not signed up, and a welcoming letter to ID. Hence my fears
