(3,379 posts)Turns out it was 3.2 beer, so it tasted awful and wouldn't get me drunk.

(60,335 posts)My first beer was a Blatz.
The pool Hal had Blatz on tap. If you went in the back room, which was really the front room, but closed off from the rest of the bar, you could get a 5 oz Blatz for a quarter when you were 16. Only one per day.

(6,757 posts)But Anheuser Busch gave out free samples during the tours. This was an in your face to the competition and even if you were tipsy you could smell your way to the AB brewery for miles around.

(5,174 posts)It had the same amount of beer as a case. I used to keep one in my folks' basement in an old refrigerator. It wasn't bad considering it was almost the only draft beer you could get. My dad would get him a taste of it every now and then when he had a steak to go with it. You'd have thought it was the greatest gift I ever gave him, just having it around. He used to drink Sterling in the days before I came along. Him and Mom would go to the drive in theatre with some Sterling and a barbecued chicken.
