Imagine a fellow DUer just won the lottery and now has the opportunity to fulfill the hidden guilty desire to est the best pizza ever.
Since expenses are irrelevant they can drive/fly/cruise to any place you recommend for the best pizza
Only rule is it can't be a nationally advertised chain...e.g. Mr. Jim's. Domino's...etc.
Although I am in Miami...I'm going to submit San Francisco... Pasquale's Pizza. If you ever visit the City you have to hit up Pasquale's...

(5,479 posts)Established in 1942, still owned and run by the same family with the same recipes. Last time I was back in NY I introduced a 5th generation of our family to their fare. My grandfather took my mother there when she was a child!
They've moved twice.
Barstool Reviews gave them a 9.1. Here's another view:

They had a piano that used the old paper rolls. Great pizza and a killer atmosphere!

(495 posts)Distinctive quality and flavor for a basic, affordable hand tossed pie. From 1970 through 1994 or so my oldest brother, third oldest brother, myself, my younger brother, and younger sister worked there (in one combination or other) in near continuous succession as we matriculated the State University. Now owned and operated by the original owners' daughter in the same location.

(22,270 posts)at least when I lived there in the early 70s.
We have a sole owner shop near us that has a fabulous pie. I am looking forward to mr Yellowdog feeling comfortable enough to actually go there to eat in the restaurant.
A couple of local family restaurants make great pizza too. The owners of one place are hard core Democrats. Our Democratic Woman's Club has lunch there once a month after our club meeting. This place is BYOB and there are usually a dozen bottles of wine on the table. (also: great pasta dishes, salads and soup - large portions, low prices too.)
If you are ever in the Fort Worth area, Prima Pasta &Pizza is a great place to go
I love a good glass of red with pizza or other Italian food.
