(413 posts)There was a Saturday at the clinic that somebody brought in a stray female - not spayed, not in the best shape, no chip, no collar, no tags. I searched the database and called everybody in the area with a husky that fit the physical description (except for the physical condition). No luck. We were going to get her to Animal Control at the end of the day.
However, everybody I called (Hi, this is your clinic, do you know where Sophie is? That wasn't uncomfortable at all. Right.) called somebody else. Several somebody elses. They all called us. And then they called more people. Within a few hours, our phone lines were essentially shut down with husky inquiries from around a large metropolitan area - Has the owner been found? Have you tried (miscellaneous)? Under no circumstances give her to Animal Control, we'll take her for the weekend. Is there any update? Call us before you close. We'll come right over. And so on, and so forth...
The owner was found. (I kind of wish they hadn't been.) The dog was home before we closed.
If there's anything to transmigration, you probably couldn't do better than to come back as a husky.

(23,334 posts)Its high drama and big stress for mama. We go into the groomer a couple times a month just to practice and buy a treat and a toy. I feel Im being manipulated by a border collie. This is my life now.

Willow's ears stood straight up when the screaming started, and her eyes were like saucers. I wasn't sure whether she wanted to rescue the huskie or run for her own life.

If he doesnt get his treat on time or someone has the audacity to go outside without him.
The first few times we dog-sat him I came running to his aid, thinking he surely had his paw stuck in the door or was gravely injured when out of my sight. Nope, laying in his bowl of water demanding my attention was all.
Shear theatrics. But man do I love that dog.
