With summer starting to wind down (I mean don'tcha know the State Fair starts tomorrow!) you might be looking at your summer bucket list and realizing you are running out of time to accomplish everything you set out to achieve. Well I've got good news, if buying a 1,800+ can case of beer was on your list, I found a Minnesota liquor store offering one!
I mean for JUST $1,299.99, that's less than a dollar a can, you could have over 1,800 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon to enjoy.
Now you'd probably need a pallet jack to move it from the store to your vehicle, then somehow get it in the back of your truck, and... well you'd have plenty of beer on hand to think about how you were going to move it.
This isn't the first time that Pabst Blue Ribbon has offered an absurd amount or Blue RIbbon quality to those willing to buy it. A few years ago they offered PBR in a 99-pack! Once again, I'm not sure I'd want to sit on a 99-pack it would be a bear to store but if you love PBR you would find a way I'm sure.

(9,849 posts)Perhaps, by Christmas, we will see daily highs below 95. Makes one mighty thirsty.
But the cost to cool all that beer might be out of sight. And I like my beer chilled.

Cooling one can at a time multiplied by the number of single cans cooled is the same energy absorbed by the refrigerator as cooling them all at once (given a damn big refrigerator).
PG&E just adds it all up and sends an enormous bill once a month.
That said, knowing a little physics can mess with your mind. So, when power goes out, as it does all too often, when PG&E discovers a bird pooping on the electrical lines and shuts down thousands of users because its tired of paying billions in settlements when it burns down a town or two from faulty equipment,
The generator kicks in, burning propane to produce electricity which goes to the fridge to turn a compressor on which cools food by heating up the environment. So, Im burning fuel, creating heat, to cool food by creating more heat.
But, if thermoelectric devices were cost-effective, one could presumably use a solar panel to convert radiation into electricity, which cools the food/beer. Those little coolers you can buy for autos do that. Unfortunately, the sway of cost-effectiveness downplays environmentally-friendly inventions. Especially so, since Milton Friedman and others replaced God with The Market as supreme being.
Hopefully, there are aspects of the new climate bill that will make this all better.

(22,040 posts)... PBR has been a (nearly) life-long favorite!
It's too expensive to ship to NYC, though.
