He walked by the banquet room, dropped in, and gave a short congratulatory speech, and mingled with some of the guests.

He was also a good guy.

The only thing I have ever seen him in was Kenneth Branagh's "Measure for Measure, wherein he played Denzel Washington's younger (and wicked) brother. He certainly can act.
