Oh goody. Another severe thunderstorm warning. Should be here in less than 10 minutes

My cousin in Grand Rapids gave a shout out to batten down the hatches. I checked the Consumer's Energy outage page and it shows over 120,000 without power from west to mid Michigan.

I SERIOUSLY don't have the stamina for another prolonged outage so my fingers are crossed that I'm not out starting up the generator, in about an hour.

It was a doozy - flash flooding at the State Fair, a few small tornadoes, really heavy rain, power outages. https://www.mprnews.org/story/2022/08/27/severe-storms-roll-through-twin-cities-cause-flooding-at-minnesota-state-fair Good luck!

Hopefully this will just be a good thunderboomer and lightning display with no wind shears like we had the last time.

But it looks like real rain is on the way.
I'm going to go outside and stand in it. I feel so dried out.
We midwesterners aren't used to going weeks without rain.

That last nasty storm dumped a whole lot of rain.

Hopefully my tomato plants will survive this one. They did pretty good, last time. When the apple tree fell, it missed them by inches.

But I did have to disarm my Blink security cameras because the motion detector kept triggering.

I remember those storms from Grand Haven...

Racing across the Great lake...

The skies weird shades of yellow and green and grey...

Humidity so high it ached to breathe...

The tension in the air so taut it seemed fit to burst...

And then --

The first crack of lightning and deep-throated rumble of thunder...

Finally, grandpa would say it was all right to come up from the basement...

The air outside was once again crisp and clean...

That is all...

Right now the sky is lighter and it's just a light rain. BUT I think there's still some stuff to our west. The Flint area now has quite a few outages.

I rushed and made dinner, just in case.

I went out, this morning, to see if I lost any more tree limbs. Just twigs littering the yard.
