Went to my favorite bakery again today. Twice!!

Went out this morning with my wife and our dog for curbside pickup at Home Depot.

Then went and mailed our property tax payment.

I then suggested that we go to the bakery to get some take out.

She didn't want to go. So I just kidnapped her and the dog and drove there anyway.

When I pulled into the parking lot, I asked her what she wanted. She said "nothing, just get what you want".

So I got a fish sandwich, two slices of pizza, and two big cookies.

So at about 1100AM, I had 1/2 of the fish sandwich, 1 slice of pizza, and 1 cookie for breakfast. I saved the rest for later, for dinner.

I started getting hungry again around 500pm, so I went to the kitchen, after working my ass off all day in the sun, and ate the last slice of pizza.

My wife came in and said "I was going to have that slice with a beer tonight".

My response was "You do this every time to me. Why didn't you tell me you wanted pizza when we were at the bakery this morning"? She said "Because I changed my mind".

So I said "Well, not only did I eat the pizza, but I'm eating the big cookie tonight too".

She said "No you're not, I'm having that with my coffee tomorrow morning".

I said "No you're not, you should have told me this morning and I would have bought you one. That cookie is mine".

So I went into the kitchen and looked for the container that the cookie came in from the bakery. I couldn't find the container.

So I said "Where's the cookie"?

She said "I hid it".

So I looked in the usual hiding spots, and I still couldn't find the cookie.

So I yelled at her "WHERE'S THE FUCKING COOKIE"???????

Then we just stood there silently facing each other like two guys getting ready to draw on each other, like in the show "Gunsmoke".

I finally capitulated and said "I'll be back in 30 minutes with more pizza and cookies".

2. The cookies usually don't make it home.

I normally scarf them down in the car while driving home, pull into the driveway, get out of the car with my face and shirt covered with frosting, and then I feel shame for a few minutes.

5. we do this all the time at restaurants

He orders and says if you want some, put in your own order. This is usually with appetizers.

Then when I don't and his order comes and looks so good, I (used to) try to nab a bite here and there. Or hope he'd get tired of it and give the rest to me.

I've learned to just go ahead and order it, whether I think I'll actually have it or not. I can always take it home if I don't.

Your dialogue was hilarious and I really got the picture when you mentioned "Gunsmoke!"
