Wacky knee question. I run just fine without pain, but I have no up.

I don't have problems with my knees when I run. I do great with turmeric supplements and icing them. But, I do have a problems when it comes to stairs. And it's something that I only noticed when I went on vacation.

I think my entire problem is due to the fact that there is no up in Florida. No mountains nor hills with stairs are rare. Certainly nothing close by. And since Covid, we stopped our Y membership, so I don't have access to the leg press, which use to take care of this problem. Two years without the leg press and it feels like my knees are atrophied, when it comes to stairs, yet I run without any problems.

So, what exercises mimic the leg press? And what supplements might help with cartilage or cushion restructuring in the knee? I know people will jump to the glucosamine chondroitin supplements, but I hear that the verdict is still out on their effectiveness.

My knees aren't perfectly aligned and I have been known to hyper-extend. But, yes, I think that's going to be the most economical method. Thank you!
