(10,427 posts)During the pandemic, my husband and I were about the only people that LOST weight! It's back up a bit now due to post-COVID inflammation and fluid retention.
If you want more information, look up Dr. Ken Berry on YouTube. He's from Nashville, so he sounds like a redneck, but he's cool.

(22,578 posts)I now weight what I was at in high school and look good enough to walk out in my yard without a shirt, feeling fine about it. Keto is not a diet for me, but a lifestyle which has made me more healthy.

(115,706 posts)I suppose I'd eat a bit of birthday cake at a party but I am now 100% convinced that carbs really are the enemy and should be kept to a minimum. I've lose four sizes (18 to 10), but I don't walk out in my yard without a shirt. Gravity is never kind to old ladies.

I threw away the scale...Started at 215,..(5ft.6.& 1/2) last time at the doctor's office 152.
(Only time I weight myself is at doctors office)

Post 11, above, is very important. That 30- minute walk will increase your heart strength to keep you alive. You need to do a few stretching exercises too.
....Any program at a gym or physical fitness class will show you what those stretching
exercises are. .. .Oh....If you don't like walking........buy a stationary bicycle...whlle riding, listen to your favorite
music.. Stay on the bike for say...15 minutes,...then build up to 30 minutes...........
.........Same with the walk.......Say you start at 15 minutes...slow walk, then gradually build up to 30 minutes...
.....(say increase the walk 2 minutes a week..from 15 to 17 & so on..) and gradually increase the speed of
the walk. Gradually, so it gradually increases the strength of the heart muscle and the other muscles...
