Anyone lose smell and/or taste due to COVID?

How long were they lost? A day, week?

Did these senses come back?

How are you dealing with any odd-taste issues, if you have them?

My taste seems to be coming back. But I'm worried it's not back to where it was. It's hard to gage.

TIA for sharing experiences

I have read that most get sense of smell & taste back pretty quickly & that the newest variants tend not to cause loss of these senses.

Keep masking! No natural immunity! My daughter had it twice in July!

My sense of smell is still gone. My taste buds seem to be a little wacky too. I had a glass of wine last night and it tasted odd. Husband said it tasted fine to him.

My oxygen level got pretty low, any lower and I would have been in hospital. I took the anti viral meds.

Then for about a week during my Pax rebound. Taste was messed up from the Paxlovid, but I never lost it. Considering the aftertaste from the Pax I wish I had.

things don't taste right. I've been like this for months. My Aunt got covid in 2020 and she lost her taste and smell. neither hasn't come back.

It persisted for around two years. I have no proof, but I believe it was in the same family as COVID-19.

I lose taste and smell with most every normal cold. And I was prone to colds before masking.

It wasn't great before so probably up to where it is now. Googling I found there are things you can do to restore at least some of your senses of taste and smell. One involved using four essential oils to basically "train" your brain to recognize scents. Haven't tried them yet.
