This time last year, we were returning from evac due to Caldor fire -NOW...

The Mosquito fire is threatening the other side of the ridge that burned to a crisp. No, It doesnt look like it's headed to Tahoe...and the winds are not like last year's hell.

BUT here we are getting heavy smoke and even ash falling from the sky (and this is 37 miles away). The smell alone triggers our collective PTSD frm last year's close call.

It could still very well reach into Desolation Wilderness from the opposite side. The recent high temps have made everything even more dry (if it was even possible, but yea, even live plants are dryng out).
It's in steep canyn area and 0% contained due to inaccebility.

Rain possible Saturday can't come soon enough. Hope we get plenty!
