"Thank you very much" sounds better than "Thank you much."

(14,922 posts)the point that we were excessive in our use of the word "very." He made one of the students take an article that had been turned in and read it out loud, substituting "damn" for "very" each time it occurred. We all thought it was damn funny!

But words can have more than one meaning.
