Swap spouses, what about swap pets?

My dog is forever/whatever. But I obviously love dogs, and my neighbors have two small critters and I scratch their bellies through the chain-link fence and they're crazy about me and clearly want more.

We've never been together past the fence. I suspect it would be crossing a line if I hosted them over for cuddles, treats, belly rubs.

5. Hmmm. I would be willing to swap my cat

for another cat. Although, I will admit to allowing a neighborhood cat to spend the night with me. He showed up tonight, the 6th time in 7 days. A great and affectionate cat. I know his real human family lives across the street, and I'm not sure why he spends the night with me, what he is missing in his other home. But he's cuddly and affectionate. Oh, and I don't feed him. I push him outside in the morning, when it's time to feed my own cat. I have been paying attention to his weight, and if he starts losing noticeably, I will start feeding him. But so far, his other family is feeding him very well.
