The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsToday in Columbus, Ohio there is a 60th anniversary Dance Party at Valley Dale Ballroom.
I appeared on the Dance Party TV program a few times and won a couple of dance competitions.
Valley Dale was my Sunday afternoon hangout.
During the sixties Central Ohio was a hotbed of garage bands, many of them outstanding. Some went on to open for and/or tour with some of the biggest groups of the sixties and seventies.
Please allow me to share with you some of the bands and music I remember from that time.

(7,952 posts)Our neighbor, Donna Severance. Was "Miss Dance Party." The Dante's were the 1st 45 I bought and the Rebounds went to Brookhaven High School right across the street from my high school, DeSales. My brother played the drums in a band and we would go up to the Northland shopping center for the battle of the band's. Been to Valley Dale many times. The memories are flooding back thanks to you!!!!
