(25,453 posts)Remember the white pages and a separate book for businesses? Then they combined white in front yellow business section in back. Ma Bell hasn't sent me one in ages.

(57,073 posts)I think that's probably illegal, but, hey, laws don't mean anything in red hellhole states.
Chicago also had a commercial yellow pages for businesses.
Old Crank
(3,638 posts)So yes it is illegal.
But the delivery person may not know nor who ever gave them the books to deliver.
If you wanted you could contact the Post Office and they might have a talk with them.
The ones we used to get wouldn't fit and it was quicker to drop them by the door.

I just collected it, took it inside and put it in the closet were the unused previous one was stored...which I threw out.

I did learn one very importatant lesson. Go to the store, let them know you are leaving. They never seem to have a record of your 2 or 3 phone calls.
I took my equpment back to Metrnet. Paid the bill I had just recieved. Leaving Spectrum, yet keeping cable not so easy. That is why I resisted going back. I demanded and now get a paper bill.

They would have have different area codes, time zones, and important numbers for FED offices, State offices, and area offices like police, fire, etc. I don't know why, but it fascinated me.

(17,989 posts)You read anything that was there. The thopirst for books was unending. 24 books to read as my 2 best friends exchanged. Now I have on on the IPAD,too!
I was always first in line at the mobile library that stopped in front of my house. 8 whole books! I still get 8 books when I go to the library
