They can dig their own tunnels later. Zoo staff will care for them in loco parentis.

in 2018. We were inland about a mile from the Gulf, and there were burrowing owls. My daughters knew to watch for them on undeveloped lots-they are protected, and if they have a burrow on the lot, you can't build.
