What Halloween?
This is real.
Possession by an Exu (Saint) in Umbanda.
Don't try this at home.

And it isn't meant to be scary.
Medium channels these entities, the attendees ask questions of life importance.
This is a tradition of a formerly enslaved people, slaves brought from West Africa to Brazil.
Slavers tried to erase their native culture with whips and the noose.
They held on to their traditions by synergizing them with the Portuguese Catholicism.
One is not required to believe to show respect for that which was paid for in blood.

Without it, we'd have all kinds of bullshit running rampant.
The scary music in this is misleading, these entities aren't "evil", but can be unruly, as seen here, and dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.
Note the white candle (protection from spirit guide) and the necklace on the medium. (Same thing - I have one.)

I just enjoy talking about the history of this, which is quite remarkable.

At the beginning of this offers insight.
Pomba Gira is, among other things, a protector of LGBT people.
She is a spirit of the crossroads, where things border on each other and connect, such as male and female.

I've been to wilder parties than that.

Ironically, various types of alcohol are offered, according to the entities preference.
Brazilian rum for the males, champagne for the females are common.
And they DO drink, through the medium!
The female spirit Pomba Gira hangs out in bars and clubs in Rio.
She is considered a protector of LGBT and sex workers.
She is a tough "Lady of the Night", and could probably drink us under the table!
