Terrific. The Astros throw a "no-hitter"...

Last edited Thu Nov 3, 2022, 12:57 AM - Edit history (1)

...the first in the World Series since Larson. With *four* pitchers. Grandfathers today tell their kids about watching Larson's on TV. *Larson's*. I'm sure today's four pitchers will just trip off the tongue of the old geezers in 2080. Assuming major league baseball still exists, which frankly I doubt. Jesus H Christ, keep Javier in the goddam game until he gives up a damned hit. I fucking hate analytics and algorithms. Yeah, I'm an old geezer and a reactionary, which I proudly embrace. Bob Gibson is rolling in his grave...

Smart to pull Javier. He'll be available to pitch some innings if there's a Game 7. Auggie Nov 2022 #11

How do you pull a pitcher throwing a No Hitter, when you have a 5 run lead? Leave him in until he gives up a hit.

I guess it's still an accomplishment, but it's also kind of a copout.

Amazing Pitchers. People go to the game for the runs and scores. Not for no-hitters.

Not to detract from this spatular no-hitter, but throwing no hitter is an infinitely harder achievement

There have been a mere 23 perfect games in major league baseball history, while there have been over 300 no hitters.

That being said, this game was an cliff hanger because this was the third game where the Astros lead by five, winning only two.
