I'm feeling pretty good. I earned it. I walked three miles in steady rain first thing this morning on my way to and from PT for the shoulder I had replaced almost a month ago.

I love walking in the rain when equipped for it. Especially that first good one after a miserable dry spell. I wouldn't miss it.

I just rocked out to the Foo Fighters Live Wembley DVD. That was fun. I hadn't seen a whole show of theirs before and Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones came out at the end. I can't believe I never knew about that.

Question for you: will they ever develop an office test to rule out exposure to Epstein/Barre? I used to give blood regularly for years until they prohibited anyone at risk for exposure to Epstein/Barre.

I’m on the list due to service in Germany and the Gulf in 1991. Every year, I call up our local blood donation clinic begging them to take me back.

But until exposure to Epstein/Barre can be ruled out, I can’t donate.

Creutzfeldt-Jacob disease (mad cow) that people in your circumstances asked about. In that case, I believe you are also good to go now! Man, we waited for that one for a long time and now it's here and I'm retired. I can't tell you how many times people showed up telling me they would donate and kept coming back and checking.

You must be asking me this because of previous posts where I said I was in blood collections. Just so everyone else knows it wasn't totally random.

A nearby neighborhood is named Hogwaller, a historical name. It is no longer a hog raising area, but the occasional auction is still held down by the creek.

One of the police sent to deal with the hogs, commented to me that it's not often you see "pigs chasing pigs." It was entertaining to see the four legged pigs prevail.

They went away, so now I'm left only with a plain old gin and tonic and the internet.

I'm lamenting my local live Keystone Cops action being over.

I'll take the edge off my regrets at the loss of entertainment with another New Amsterdam Gin and Diet tonic. It is my regular libation.

Irish Cream, crème de cacao, and amaretto.

Mrs. Aristus took a sip and liked it so much, she asked me to mix one for her.

Dark chocolate cocoa mix combined with milk instead of water, creme de cacao, Kahlua, peppermint schnapps, and whipped cream.

In, I hasten to add, the largest mug in the cupboard...

Perfect for blustery day relaxation by the window...

On a sunny weekend, I always feel guilty that I pretty much stay indoors resting up from a busy week in clinic; it's a nagging feeling that I really should get outside and do something.

On a cold, dark day, I have no such guilt, and can stay bundled up and warm inside the whole time.

Enjoy!

It's how I take my Bourbon. I usually sip Buffalo Trace, but I'm liking this bourbon a lot. Very smooth for 100 proof.
