Anything that's releases enough pollen for that to be possible isn't something I'd want growing in my yard. 😳

(12,659 posts)3. Cottonwood trees? On edit - Poplar pods and pollen.
I've seen it look like snow under a small grove of cottonwoods at the end of pollination season. My parents both had pollen allergies and would suffer terribly in May from cottonwood trees in California.
On edit - reading further down the thread, this is done early in the morning when the grass is wet. The pollen and pods dry out and from the fire as it approaches, but the wet grass underneath doesn't burn.
