I was on one of our amphibious ships. Went into the head to take a leak. There was a Marine also at one of the urinals. He finished and went to the sink to wash his hands, I finished and started to walk out.

He said; "hey, in the Marines they teach us to wash our hands after peeing".

I replied; "in the Navy they teach us not to pee on our hands"

True Story: We had rules that you couldn't leave the ship wearing offensive shirts. No T-shirts or jackets with foul language, or sexist remarks, or promoting drug or alcohol abuse.

I was wearing an Ohio State University polo shirt. The Quarterdeck Watch tried to stop me from leaving the ship.

I had to explain to him that a Buckeye leaf has 5 leaves and a pot leaf has 7.
