If the electricity is out then the cell tower is out unless they have some kind of backup power system.

They seem to like living on the bleeding edge of technology when it comes to good utility planning in TX.

If the water is high enough, it would be really bad. More likely is the loss of commercial A/C and as their is no real telecommunication regulation in the RED state of Texas. For this reason the backup generators are non-existent or unmantained. No power and there is no service.

I worked in landlines and we had big diesel gen sets and gigantic battery plants to keep service up and running. As long as one wasn’t using a cordless phone, they would work even in power outages.

I just looked at the current map. The only precip I see is a light shower around Amarillo. The rest of the state is all clear.

He was a favorite of my son's too, when he was taking guitar lessons.
