(14,047 posts)Also early in the show's history, there was a short film showing loved ones meeting in airport terminals with Homeward Bound playing.
Very moving. Can't find it anywhere. Maybe it was another show, but I seem to remember it being on SNL.
Edit:
It was in 1975 - a film by Gary Weis.

Still searching...
Specifically - Dec 20, 1975.

(34,111 posts)I miss George so much.
I was probably late to this but if you have not read or preferably listened to Miracle and Wonder by Malcolm Gladwell do.
Beautiful music, exceptional. Thank you.

(267 posts)... so look for a longer clip on the tube - well worth it.
But my recollection also includes the "cold open" which featured an argument between Harrison and Lorne Michaels. It went something like this:
Harrison: "Listen, there's a problem with my appearance fee - I thought we had agreed on $3000, but this check is only for $750."
Michaels: "George, I thought we understood that the $3000 was for the four of you..."

(56 posts)Its a great song for the two of them to be singing together. Each knows exactly what the other is saying about wishing to be home and their shared experiences all come out in this song.

(54 posts)On November 29th it will be 21 years since George passed. He was and continues to be a musical genius! What a perfect way to end the day listening to and watching George and Paul Simon! I remember watching this on SNL many years ago.
