What's up with the USPS

Went to tracking and got this! Item is small enough to fit in mailbox at the curb.

"We were unable to attempt delivery of your item on November 25, 2022 at 10:51 pm in XXXX due to interference by an animal."

1. Perhaps a neighborhood dog harassed the carrier. (?)

Edit to add: I wouldn't be bold enough to put my hand outside the truck window if a dog was jumping at me.

8. Or a snake. I was a mail carrier many years ago, and a couple of my fellow carriers

Mt cat was on their Science Diet r/d, weight reduction. The vet said he needed to lose a pound, but every time we went back, he'd gained. But then he got sick, just finished up a series of appointments with a neurologist - and now he needs to gain weight. For awhile we fed him using a syringe, but now he's eating out of his dish again. I found my Felix as a kitten in a supermarket parking lot one night on my way home in 2014. What we'll do for our pets.

6. We had a carrier once who warned us and stopped delivery

because of our barking dog......dog secured in the house, 2" mail slot with spring-loaded cover in the front door. He claimed the dog could get at him through the slot. It wasn't very damn likely unless he insisted on putting his fingers past the cover and slot. Even then.....?

I don't minimize the hazards from loose dogs to carriers and others whose job means entering a yard and approaching the door — it is a major cause of job injury for those folks — but this guy was way over cautious which could've been due to previous, negative doggo encounters.

16. When I reacted to $10 for a very light item, the dude said, "Have you tried UPS or FedEx?"

I said, "No, I keep trying to give you all a chance." He nodded like agreeing.

I paid & started to leave and he kept me to give me a receipt, circling a Survey, and a tracking #.

That's the problem, giving me stuff I don't want and charging more.
