LED lightbulb not working in home office

I had a 75 watt LED bulb in home office and it did not work this morning. We replaced the bulbs with 75 Watt LED bulbs and they do not work. The circuit breaker is fine. I may have to call electrician

Does the bulb screw in. If yes, same thing. Just make sure the power is off. Lochloosa Nov 2022 #8
Yes, definitely try this if all else fails. Jack the Greater Nov 2022 #7
have you tested the new one in a different fixture? onethatcares Nov 2022 #4
Another test is to plug in something you know works in the outlet. Lochloosa Nov 2022 #5

UNPLUG THE LAMP.

Take a small screwdriver and pull up the contact where the bulb makes contact inside the lamp socket. You should be able to pry it up an 1/8 of an inch or so. Then try the bulb again.

DON'T FORGET TO UNPLUG THE LAMP FIRST.

Oh yeah, plug the lamp back in after you put the bulb back in.

First try the bulbs in a different lamp socket on a different circuit. If they work, then either you are not getting juice to the ceiling fixture, or the tab is not making contact with the bulb. Even if it is a ceiling fixture you can turn the switch off and there should be no voltage at the fixture, unless it was wired backwards and the neutral was switched instead of the hot. Turn off the breaker if you want even more assurance that the juice is off. A pair of needle nose pliers work well to pull down the tab a bit. Also make sure the metal tab is not coated with carbon from arcing due to loose contact with the bulb. Scrap it with a flat bladed screwdriver. Do this first, then pull the tab down to make sure it is making solid contact with the bulb.

or different bulbs in the fixture you're having trouble with?

OR

Maybe it just doesn't feel like working after a long weekend. Is it a millenial, gen x, or boomer bulb?

If that works, it's the lamp or just two bad bulbs.
