(5,164 posts)I have a fair amount of shoes too, but most I cant wear anymore because they hurt. I have to sell some eventually. I have some of those over the door shoe things in the downstairs closet and shelves I put in in a closet for things.

(17,298 posts)I even have a couple pairs that are visit in the closet only shoes, too high or uncomfortable to actually wear! As a kid/teen I had to wear orthopedic shoes. They were expensive and ugly! I swore to myself if/when I ever got out of them I would have a closet of beautiful shoes. Thankfully Im not big on jewelry, but when it comes to shoes I cant say no.

(2,953 posts)I have 9 pair of Skechers & 2 pair of HeyDude's I have purchased in the last 8-10 years. I am retired, so really don't need that many, but I'm always on the lookout for comfortable walking shoes. I must say the Dude's are not as comfy as the Skechers.
Another of my passions is pens. I don't buy any, just pick them up in the Credit Union or other places that have them for advertising purposes.

(1,824 posts)but I'm fascinated by shoes of all sorts and love to look at them in stores and on other people's feet - particularly brands like Irregular Choice.
Shoes can be like little sculptures on their own.

they were like clouds on my feet.As I have gotten older , my feet have widened. I have a about a dozen pairs of sketchers, but they just don't feel comfortable. What kind of sketchers would you all recomend for me. My doctor recommended those crocs However I live in Pittsburgh and it does get snowy and very cold to be walking the dog in crocks

(47,558 posts)2 pairs of white tennies.
2 pairs of black tennies.
2 pairs of boots.
1 pair of slippers.
I can buy whatever I want, but when a new pair of shoes comes out of the box, a current pair has to go.
Same with guitars. I get 5 only. If I bring a new one home, one of the current 5 has to go.
Keeps me sane.

(12,047 posts)Then the leather moccs, heavy sandals and formal oxfords in closet with heavy boots. Trail shoes and water shoes for kayaking in another room.
I choose gum rubber, non-skid soles when I can, mixing them around daily use keeps from wearing out any one pair, I think
I never wear socks, even in winter here in FL, so good ventilation and construction is important to me, no smelly feet please
Take care of them and they will take care of your feet, comfort is #1 with me, stylin' works too, lol
