Seems I'm getting shit for having crushes on people like Davy Jones and Arnold Horshack.
So fess up everyone - who is YOUR childhood crush. Let's let it all out and lay the cards on the table.

I remember the first time I heard it. I was playing a truth or dare game with some girl when we were both in our teens, and I asked her who her movie star crush was, and she confessed it was Walken. I recoiled in shock, realizing that, at that point in his career he'd played mostly emotionally unstable characters. Janet said she was drawn to his emotional vulnerability and fragility.
Well, if that works for Walken, it's at least ten times more true of Arnold Horshack!

But what the hell happened to his partner, Roy DeSoto, turning all bad??? Stealing John Locke's kidney and everything. I guess he got tired of being a good guy.

Obviously, Gilligan and the Skipper didn't, since they each only had one outfit.
And I suppose the Howells wouldn't have been caught dead there.
Professor Roy Hinkley only had one outfit as well.
But yeah, Mary Ann just seemed to magically have more clothes than all the others put together.

(47,675 posts)I moved six weeks into 1st grade and never saw her again, so the "betrothed" part didn't work out as planned. It's just as well. I've got the perfect wife now.
In second grade, there was Betsy Wong. We'd sit on the top of the monkey bars and have spitting contests through the gaps in our front teeth. Back then, that was considered "dating".
I didn't have a crush on a celebrity until, well, probably high school, and that was Goldie Hawn. She's still hot. Then there were the Wilson sisters (Heart), also still hot. And of course, Whitney Houston, but she's tragically gone now. None of the four would have been interested in me (too young (other than Houston), and a nobody).
Other than that, as far as celebrities are concerned, I really can't think of one I'd even now (if I were single) have a crush on. I'm happy with what I have.

(4,056 posts)But who didn't have a crush on him after "Hard Day's Night"? And like any real rock connoissuer, I grew up and realized Lennon was the superior one anyway.
Aside from that, when I was 15 I just went bananas for Creedence Clearwater Revival and plastered my room with pix of John Fogerty. I was seriously obsessed, to the point where I would scour Berkeley for him every weekend. Of course, I never found him, life went on, and I stopped giving him much thought.
But wouldn't you know it--I was working and the USAirways ticket counter in 1990, and Fogerty shows up in my line! He looked exactly the same as when I was in love with him, so 20 years after the fact I regressed right back into that 15 yr old lovestruck girl. I never let on that I knew who he was, just gave him his seat and managed to stay professional.
But inside I was screaming like a teenybopper!!!

(5,737 posts)I just shared a limo ride to the airport with David Cassidy this past July 2 when he was in Las Vegas. Actually, it was just part of a ride! The previous driver had accidentally dropped him off at the wrong terminal, and my ride picked him up. He had been waiting outside in the Vegas heat for 40 minutes but still managed to be gracious and pleasant.
As fate would have it, as soon as he sat down in the car, "Last Train to Claksville" came on the radio. His mood brightened and he spoke about his dear friend, Davy Jones, whose show he was actually covering for due to Jones's death.

Recently I was watching a kids show called Kick Buttowski with my daughter when I yelled out, that Alyssa's voice. She voices one of the cartoon characters.
