Weekly True Blood Recap - Hahahaha! We were all fooled *spoilers*

The boards were a buzzing about the glipse we got in a preview 2 weeks back that showed Jessica and Jason in the ground. It looked as though Jason was about to be turned vampire by his 'friends with benefits/frenemy' Jessica Hamby.

Turns out we were all mislead by that promo. Jessica, being that her human years were spent being raised by religious crazies, was recognizing that her maker Bill Compton was becoming a religious crazy herself. When Bill questioned why Jessica needed to use the phone (she wanted to warn Jason that Russell & Steve were on the lose) she tried to lie her way out of it by saying she wanted to make Jason a vampire (she even quoted some vampire bible scriptures to boot). But Bill seems to trust no one these days, probably because he's having acid flashbacks of Lilith, so he told Jessica she should make Jason a vampire and sent 2 guards to ensure it would happen.

Obviously turning Jason was the last thing that Jessica wanted to do but stuck between a rock & a hard place she tricked the guards into thinking she was going to turn Jason and then Jason, after some hesitation, was smart enough to fake it until the guards looked into the grave and Jason killed both of them with wooden bullets.

I think this was some great writing from the TB staff and really shows how Jessica has evolved since she was first turned. She was smart enough to know that now is not a good time to be turning vampires into humans and managed to escape the clutches of her maker gone made - for now.

But it was some great scenary chewing there with Pam, Tara and Jessica alltogether. Jessica, not wanting to go back to Bill and the crazy sanguistas, instead turned to the only vampires she seems to know which was Tara and Pam. Pam wasn't too keen on the 'Ginger Bitch' but Jessica played her trump card - she knew where Eric was and that he was alive. Pam gave Jessica someplace to hide and we got a great scene between Tara and Jessica doing their girl talk (I guess they let bygones be bygones after Tara almost drained Hoyt). And Pam once again gave us the classic line of the episode:

Find more great animated TB gifs and a great review here!

Pam, of course, seemed to be a bit stressed after all her progeny Tara just beheaded the new sheriff last week. Turns out that sheriff happened to be the progeny of one of the Authority Chancellors, Rosalind (the redhead) - she happens to have 214 vampire offsprings. Rosalind was able to sniff out that something happened to Elijah and that Tara & Pam were probably behind it. But I found it interesting that Pam took the fall for Tara. Of course Tara couldn't talk about it (she was earlier commanded not to talk about it) and I was wondering if Pam said something so she could get into the Authority and help out Eric.

In the end I think it'll be Tara to save the day. Tara was always someone who knew how get herself and others out of trouble. It'll be an interesting week next week to see what happens in the upcoming bloodbath. And I have to admit that the writers of TB did a great job reinventing Tara, a character that I think most wanted to see die last season.

As for the Authority, it seems EVERYONE who drank Lilith's blood is the chosen one. Who knows what kind of crazy games Lilith is playing but honestly it's getting to be a bit annoying and I know many TB fans are starting to think that Bill Compton can't be saved and should probably be one of the ones to die in the bloodbath. Somehow Eric and Nora were able to pull out of Lilith's grip although it took sex for them to be able to get confirm they were both on the same page. And this week was not a good week to be one of Bill's guards since Jason & Jessica offed 2 of them and Eric took care of 2 more.

I liked the scene with the Military General, a human who seems to have known about vampires for almost 2 decades and worked with Roman to help mainstream them. He seemed to be onto the vampire's bullshit and was smart enough to make plenty of copies of the video tape of Russell & Steve killing all those college kids the other day. I was sorry to see him killed off right away but it was a good excuse for Eric to get out of the Authority building with Nora. I figured he would go right away to Pam but honestly, where did Eric and Nora fly off to?

Sam & Luna spent this episode at the Authority looking for Luna's daughter Emma. So Sam and Luna were either Naked or in Mouse form. When they were founded by the guards at the authority they were tossed into the holding keep for all the food humans. When Sam heard that they were bringing up food for Bill, Sam volunteered - that should be for some interesting scenes next week. Poor Emma, I guess Steve & Russell lock her up with all the naked humans - poor girl is going to be so traumatized after this is all done and I hope some nice vampire glamours her so she doesn't have to remember all of this.

Ok what was up with that Elder Faery. I mean she was suppose to be wacky but that Ke$ha for or against crazy was just a bit too annoying. But of course the writers found a way for them to kill off the elder before she could tell us just who Warlow is. Will we find out next week or is this a storyline to be carried over for season #6.

But in the end the faeries thought they had a good plan. Jason would lead Russell to the field where the Faery hiding place is located and then all the faeries would take on Russell. Except the crazy elder faery changed her mind and said she would do it herself - not a smart move. I think a couple dozen faeries could have taken out Russell but just one pretty much made her dinner for Russell, who is now high & drunk on Faery Blood (remember Eric last season after he downed Sookie's faery godmohter). And all that faery blood means that Russell can see where the faeries are hiding.

It should be an interesting week next week but expect plenty of cliffhangers to be resolved season #6. It has been said by several folks with TB that next week is going to be a massive bloodbath but I doubt we'll know the final casualities until next summer when the series starts up again.

Until next week...

and prepared herself by downing something toxic that not only would make her crazy, but would also weaken Russell.

Russel is a 3000 year old vampire who has been feeding for a while. If he could take out a room full of old vampires (like he claimed a few episodes ago) he can take out faeries. They don't seem to have anything that kills vampires, just kinda stuns them.

At first the Elder Fairy was going to have all of them go after Russell but at the last minute changed her mind and only she went. Perhaps she had something in her blood that would weaken Russell. And remember Eric when he drank a faery - he was drunk off his ass so Russell might not be at his best.

is still more powerful than any vampire alive. I doubt if he does die, it'll be a faerie doing him in. I could see that Warlow character, whoever he is, coming to help, but the faeries don't really do anything that kills vampires.

Bill does and Eric and Nora don't? Lilith sure as hell didn't tell either of them that they were the chosen one.

Who WAS that old faerie? I seemed to recognize the actress but couldn't catch the credits. She was one of the most dumbassed characters I've ever seen.

What of Andy's Fae spawn? Is he going to have to save it from Russell Edgington? Will he die and leave Sookie to raise a half fae like herself?

Damn. Terry survived.

I love Pam/Tara/Jessica, even if they don't braid one another's hair and talk about boys.

Clearly they're heading for one of those "ground zero" resolutions where everyone ends up in one place and hilarity ensues.

I love True Blood but I'm not sure it isn't getting that shark-jumpy vibe. The'd better do something awesome to get out of this.

And I'm just sick to death of Bill. Bummer.
