Breaking Bad - Walter White could now be a CEO, GOP, Fundie Preacher, etc. (the insane clown posse)

If you have never seen Breaking Bad and would like some background on Walter White
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_White_(Breaking_Bad)

Watching the last two episodes I was not surprised at Walter's claim that it wasn't the money that now mattered to him, but empire. His total collapse into evil despot set my imagination into surmising what the mind of any evil person with power is like.

Nothing is of consequence to a sociopath in the quest to achieve their goals. Just as deluded Walter believes he is a good family man, there are too many people in powerful positions that are convinced that what they do is just and good. All the while at, they rain misery and despair on everyone around them.

Walter's vision of empire comes from a missed opportunity that he wishes to rectify. And though he initially says it isn't about the money, it boils down to money. Having blown the chance to be part of a multi-billion dollar corporation, he passes up the opportunity to escape the mayhem of his present career choice. His drive is now a sickness and with sickness, sometimes the end result is death.

The motivation for crazed CEOs, demented preachers and unhinged politicians may not be the same as Walter's but there is something seriously wrong with ideals and values that destroy others for what is perceived to be the good for all.

In my fantasy, poverty, starvation, illness, war and let us not forget a biggie - climate change, all could be corrected and eliminated if the world was run by the enlightened and not the sociopaths. But I have also imagined an end scenario in which the insane few rule the planet and the point of no return is reached. My only joy in that fiasco is that Mother Nature is indiscriminate. When the planet is poisoned and the last few surviving humans gasp their last breaths, all those responsible and their progeny die a horrible death with the rest. Maybe in several billion years after the surviving cockroaches have evolved into the new sapient beings, they'll get it right.
