***MFM UPDATE now with even more***

(god I hope there won't need to be many of these!)
I just called the hospital and after several transfers to who knows where, they just hit buttons and don't tell you where the next phone is...) I spoke with a nurse - apparently still in recovery, no phone access but he is done and doing OK - she was going to tell him I called.
They will move him to a room (with a phone) later this evening. She suggested I could try after 8. Hope that isn't hospitalese for midnight. Anyway, not much in the way of details but he's still around and not in any emergency condition so I think he made it. I sure hope it helps with his recent symptoms and that he gets a day to enjoy the AC and bed baths, but OUT OF THERE FAST!
Thanks to all of you who sent your energy to him - he really needs and appreciates it.

edit: Just talked to him - he sounded really good, had just ordered a bunch of food (pretty good sign huh?) He had been seen by a couple docs but they hadn't seen any notes so nobody actually knows any details other than the fact hs is awake, alert, vitals good etc.
and he did bring his laptop - so you late nighters stay tuned, he may show up in the lounge tonight! (he is still prone (wishing for the TTBB, no volunteers from the nursing staff so far) and they are planning to sit him up in a half hour or so...
cracking jokes and hassling the staff, plus making this phone-hating hermit call him - and all your good wishes thoughts - he is doing good!

When he FINALLY gets around to coming to, tell him I asked, "What the fuck took you so long?"

they may be in there propping the bed up, but that is just the way it goes - something is ALWAYS going on whenever I try to call.
If he is eating, tell him I said not to talk with his damn mouth full. 
Just got off the phone with MFM! He sounds great!
He's totally with the program, drinking a diet soda, and laughing and talking with me.
He is about to get out of bed to sit at the bedside, so he had to hang up. As far as he knows, he will most likely go home tomorrow, but he 's not in any hurry. He wants to make sure all is working well inside...
And he wants his tag team bed bath! 
He may post a bit later, but he wasn't sure ...
He greatly appreciated the call, and all the good wishes!
Oh, screw it. Just come home soon, dammit!
