2. My grandfather homesteaded in 1911.

His homestead did not have potable water so he hauled spring water
about a mile from Aldrich Spring to his home.
He used a team of horses to pull a sled over the rocky prairie, carrying
barrels of water on the sled he named the 'stone boat'.

That's not my grandfather.

Here's a photo from 1917, he's on the far right, his bride is next to the woman holding the baby.
