Guidance

I am 2 yrs shy of qualifying for SS benefits. Are there any other options to avail immediately? Jobless since March '21 and recently diagonsed with CRC (colorectal carcinoma), lost 85 lbs in 6 mths. No heallt insurance, no treatment Single all alone w/no friends or living family. Tomorrow being evicted from my cheap hotel room onto the streets. Social svcs declined help?, church summarily rejected. May not survive beyond 3 days. For the first time in my life, extremely scared, bereft of hope, compassion or mercy. Indifferent Redneck town Richland, WA. Grateful for pointers and guidance. Challenged with social media or technology. Merci

had no hearing, nor did I have to go before a jury with a lawyer. I live in PA so maybe it is different. However at 65 my SSDI turned into SS with me receiving the same amount of money. I could have received food assistance and Medicare, but I didn't feel it was fair as my husband still was working. Go down to your local SS office and bring your medical forms and tax papers. That's all I did. Wish you well my friend.

Looks like there are 2 homeless shelters in Richland:

In your situation, you should qualify for emergency TANF and SNAP (food stamps). There may be people at the homeless shelters that can help you apply.

If not, contact call 211. This is a service run by the United Way as a one stop shop for community assistance. Richland's 211 service is headquartered at the Mansfield/Richland library.

I called both as suggested and no help. As for the Salvation Army shelter, suitcases which contain my clothes for work are not allowed. Can't toss them and can't replace them. Just interviewed for a kob. Next round next week. Don't lnow where I'd be. Exhausted all avenues and options. Thanks for the guidance.
