What do you do to improve your mood, when you are in a bad mood?

Last edited Thu Jun 8, 2023, 10:17 PM - Edit history (1)

I am in a bad and sad mood and would like to know some suggestions from you. Thank you all for your suggestions. I took a med and slept this early evening. I am very sad and upset. I feel numb--and terribly sad and angry, and mad . Some things will never change, I just am tired of trying to make them change. Debbie.

calm me immediately. Alexander is a Great Pyrenees and when I put my face in all that white fur I could not possibly feel bad. Scout is an angel in disguise. Joyful would describe her. Books will take me to another place where my cares are forgotten.

Nothing like locking yourself in a room and coming away exhausted and drained after beating the shit out of a ball for an hour.

Great way to alleviate tension, stress or anger.

You can choose to be in the bad mood -- or you can choose to be in a good mood. You are in control.

Of course we can't control everything in life that happens to us -- there will be good and bad. But we can choose how we respond.

And if I am thinking about my mood, then I am objectifying the temporary mood, recognizing it as separate myself, from the constant witness of changing moods, me.

Others call it meditation, surrendering to God, getting high, etc.
All are understandings of the constant consciousness and the changing, nagging, otherness of all that bugs us, within and without.

... feed the koi, and watch the birds bathing in the stream that feeds said pond.

Sometimes I have to wait for the koi to speak to me before I can go back to work. Not very often, but sometimes.

would work and I put my headphones on and play my old music loves and sing my heart out. I am a musician but singing and I never met to the point that anyone else should ever hear me but oh it does make me feel good.

Old favorite songs and singing. Before long you will feel better. Then pet a dog or cat or a horse or anything if you can get one around. You have a dog right? There is the most true love of all.

First of all, I'm so sorry you're feeling bad and sad.... Lots and lots of hugs and healing vibes from me to you.

Also, I just want to thank you for your amazing posts! I really enjoy the fun discussions they generate.

What I do to help myself feel better:

Listen to music that I KNOW will raise my spirit. I even have a list of them written down.

I watch my favorite T.V. shows/sitcoms that I KNOW will make me laugh regardless of how many times I've seen particular shows.

I have my "go to" podcasts that I listen to which can also make me laugh or are topics I'm interested in. I think you're into True Crime (if I remember from a past post) and I HIGHLY recommend a podcast called, "My Favorite Murder." I know it sounds weird but it's two gals talking and bantering on and off (they are really funny and I LOVE their personalities) while discussing either true crime stories, survival stories, or major news events in the past with amazing details.

Once again.............LOVE AND LIGHT your way....
