2. Squash traumatized me as a kid so I can't even look at a sweet potato.

When I was four and at family dinners with my grandparents I would be forced to eat everything on my plate ( later mom allowed one or two things we could not eat if we didn't want to). I would pack the squash in my cheeks as I could not swallow it. 1/2 way through dinner, my proper but nice grandmother would comment I looked like a chipmunk with my cheeks full. I wonder if she was the reason we each had a veto on some least favourite food?

it down my throat. "It's good for you ...EAT!!! To this day it looks ok but a bit funny. Smells ok when cooked with onions and lots of garlic but when I get it close to my mouth the gag reflex takes over. I mainly eat a whole food vegetable based cooking regime. I'm on a cabbage soup kick lately. A base of onions, carrot, celery or green peppers and red cabbage. I then go off on tangents with Bok Choy or Soy curls, tofu. Any and all kinds of mushrooms are welcome. Maybe throw in a hand full of red lentils to thicken things up. Hit it with a hand blender to get rid of the big chunks and I'm set. I make enough for a week and put them in mason jars and into the fridge they go.. Sprouts as a garnish? Kimchi? Did someone say Sriracha?
The pastabilitys are endless

8. Liver was the one thing my mom forced on us. I would eat the bacon.

Then it would be my mom cajoling us 4 to eat another bite of liver and then another. I would douse it it ketchup but that didn't really help. Finally after we had eaten 1/2 of it my mom would give up. And a few months later the meal would re-appear. She didn't give up till we were in our teens. I mean she was amazingly healthy. We ate potatoes and two veggies at every meal. We were never allowed margarine. Not much desert. Snacks were milk shakes with a raw egg instead of ice cream. Or nuts. Or dried apricots. Sardines. One of our nannies got us to eat the marrow out of chicken bones. We ate healthily. She didn't have to do the liver but that was something she was willing to fight for.

Loved it! Also for something quick I enjoy Trader Joe’s vegan tikki masala ( in freezer section). Recently I made potato skins with follow your heart ‘cheddar’ shreds and their ‘Parmesan’. Next time I will make some lightlife smoky tempeh bacon and add that. What brand was the lentil and tofu pie?

I also love Thai red curry take out. I order one veggie and one tofu and mix them.
