Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI flew into Newark last night, and the pilot announced that the plane was NOT on fire.
He had to do so, because the sky was filled with smoke from burning Alberta.
I heard it was worse here earlier in the week, but it's pretty bad right now.
I can definitely feel it in my throat; been coughing quite a bit.

(4,845 posts)At around 2pm, it went dark like it's sunset and the whole day had an orange haze. The smoky smell was so strong the whole day till around night time. It was crazy because it was more light at around 8pm than it was the whole day. It cleared out a lot today and it was a light white haze instead of orange and the smell was a lot less today.
Stay safe and wear a mask if you can.

(86,071 posts)I am thankful we don't have it now but it will come eventually. By the end of summer I will have inhaled enough wildfire smoke to have been a two pack a day smoker that whole time.
Stay inside if you can. You know the drill.
Here in NC the air quality has been affected but i understand it's much worse up there.
