My neighbor has been putting out pans of fruit and I have no idea why. I wouldn't care but they are breeding 1000s of fruit flies. We have an abundance of skunks lately too. I know racoons will eat fruit but cats?

Iceberg. They prefer the crunchy bottom part.
I can't even rustle the plastic bag without one or the other hearing and trying to steal it off the counter.
Yesterday for lunch I made Mr Pipi an egg sandwich with lettuce on it.
Lucy jumped up and tried to snag the piece of lettuce hanging out from the bread slices.

(23,288 posts)When I was a kid, we had a cat that LOVED corn on the cob. When my mother put up corn for freezing, that cat would be right at her side, looking up, waiting for an ear to come her way. Mom would cut most of the corn off the first ear, but would leave a little on it for the cat, and put it in the cat food dish. That crazy cat would go after it hammer and tong until she got all the good corn off it, then lick the cob until she decided she'd gotten all she would get.

(4,909 posts)like sweet fruits. I have skunks on my property that eat the pears in my neighbors yard.
Sometimes the pears lay on the ground and ferment. I believe this is where the term "drunk as a skunk"
comes from. Skunks are cute to begin with....when they are hammered up they are hysterically.

My cat just stole some sauerkraut off of my plate at dinner today, so I would not put anything past a cat.
