I just almost spent $60 on a bag of sugar cookies from Harry & David

I'll be away for my elderly Dad's birthday and christmas and wanted to send him something special before I left for travel most of december. He doesn't need clotohes or things. We've just thrown out truckfulls of things he doesn't need.

But I couldn't complete the purchase. Its nuts. $60 for factory made sugar cookies. And he may already have several tins of them by then.

I'll have to get creative. I just can't do it.

They're not too expensive, and they keep for a longer time. She's like your dad-- doesn't need THINGS.

from Harry & David. They LOVE it, which was my intention; results in expanding my grands' healthy food consumption.

IMO their gift baskets are mediocre but their pears are wonderful. I make an upside down ginger pear cake that is fabulous!

for my grandson for Christmas. The package I chose was $69.

Once, our daughter got an acre of land on the Moon deeded to her Dad. He was tickled. She just mentioned the other day that she is getting one for someone this year. I still have the deed to the acre she got her Dad, and offered to give it back. She said she'd give it to her daughter

Vanity gifts for sure, but fun.

The cookies are good, reasonably priced and they help support a good organization.
