Satire: Garth Brooks kicked out of Toby Keith tribute concert for being too 'woke"

Heck, knowing the RW jingoistic politics of mainstream country music, the title is damned believable in itself, isn't it? The lede at the top is “Toby Wouldn’t Have Wanted A Woke Person Here”

Some country musicians have gone after Brooks for his opinions. Was Keith a Trumper? I know he was conservative but didn’t he support Obama?

The first hole in the dike was god bless the usa.I hated that with a white hot passion and all the country stations kept that in extra heavy rotation for YEARS. The jingoistic, USA! USA! USA! country of the 90s stuck hard in my craw, and then the savaging of the Dixie Chicks after 9/11 is what finally made me stop listening to country altogether. The link to the satire popped up in my news feed.

Said he liked Palin because she was not a typical politician and similarly implied he would vote for Trump because Trump was a businessman. He performed for Trump inauguration. He had some praise for Obama and some things Obama did in office but remarked that Obama was so popular because he acted "Caucasian".

His politics seemed confused with pandering to both sides over the years.
