Here's what happened: The Multi-State Lottery Association, which owns Powerball, Lotto America and 2by2, requires each state verify all the numbers sold for that drawing on two different computers and to transmit all the numbers to the MSLA. One state's computers were down; without all that data they can't draw the numbers.

I was late because two of my papers run the numbers and, by the time I made the command decision to print an apology to the readers in the earliest paper we run that paper was encroaching on the other papers we do.
