(13,626 posts)and suggested we go for a walk on the pedestrian path after dinner. That was to ensure she would wear shoes she could walk in and expect to be outside. I had really booked us on a Snake River tour and dinner at this nice restaurant upriver. A cool jetboat ride and getting out to see some sights like ancient petroglyphs.
That's one of the things like New Yorkers never going to see their sites. People that live right here and have the money just never do it. I had before but she hadn't. We had a great time. Probably my all-time masterstroke.

(37,122 posts)Wasting Away and strolling in the never closed French Quarter. A nightcap at The Tropical Isle at Bourbon and Orleans. Cafe Au Lait and Beignets at Cafe Dumond. Then cuddling at our usual Quarter abode, the Dauphine Orleans Hotel. Up at eight the next morning to run a 5K then hit the free beer truck at the finish line. We did it. We loved it. And each other. Recently celebrated our 50th. Jimmy Buffet continues to brighten our lives. Perfect.
