List your favourite actors/actresses.

As the title says list your favourite actors and actresses.

I just realized my list is mostly men, will have to correct that some time. Anyway here's my list, or at least what I can think of off the top of my head, I'll probably add to it when others suggest their own.

Philip Seymore Hoffman
Edward Norton
Daniel Day-Lewis
Robert De Niro (the young De Niro that is)
Leonardo DiCaprio
Jack Nicholson (again the young Nicholson)
Mark Wahlberg
Paul Giamatti
John C. Reilly
Julianne Moore

I know most of the ones you listed have longer histories than current stars, but still, I'm out of touch with a lot of that.

sadly not seen any of them. Actually I think I may have seen Letters from Iwo Jima, I didn't really love it (but that may be because I tend not to like anything by Eastwood.

My favourite Japanese films would be Ran and Ikiru but I suppose those are a bit cliched loves.

5. Well, as a couple, Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn.

"House Sitter", the remake of "The Out of Towners". They just click. Martin was great in "Roxanne" too, but that wasn't Goldie Hawn, although I believe she produced it.

7. Cate Blanchett and Morgan Freeman among more modern actors

I'm a fan of old French movies from the golden age (I own about 600 old classic French black and whites). Harry Baur (tortured and murdered by the Gestapo) was the single greatest influence on Rod Steiger.

Orson Welles called French actor Raimu the greatest actor who ever lived and broke down in tears when he learned of his death.

My favorite French actor, who is tied with Humphrey Bogart in my own internal poll overall, is the great Louis Jouvet, who was also a remarkable stage actor.

Edwige Feuillere, Michele Morgan, Viviane Romance, and Micheline Francey are my favorite female actresses based on their sheer acting brilliance.

Peter Weller, Kirk Douglas,
Meryl Streep, Susan Sarandon, the lovable leftie

The lines they wrote for Philip Seymore Hoffman in "Charlie Wilson's War" were amazing.
I loved his fights with his boss at the CIA.
He threw the furniture through the window.

I borrowed the movie from the library. Tom Hanks acted well in that movie. I think he produced it, too.

though he get's a bit melodramatic at times I think. He's a great director too. Never have cared too too much for Morgan Freeman.
