For me it was that good ol'boy sheriff in "Live and Let Die" and "Man With The Golden Gun."
"Secret agent? On whose side?"

(47,675 posts)He was only marginally better at playing Bond as Clooney was as pretending to be Batman. Neither worked.
Frank Cannon
(7,570 posts)Much as I'm digging the Craig movies, I kind of wish they weren't afraid to inject a little of that humor every now and then.

(27,677 posts)After blowing up a helicopter:
Mr. Kidd: If God had wanted man to fly...
Mr. Wint: ...He would have given him wings, Mr. Kidd.
After sending Bond into a crematorium:
Mr. Wint: Very moving.
Mr. Kidd: Heartwarming, Mr. Wint.
Mr. Wint: A glowing tribute, Mr. Kidd.

(27,677 posts)I will nominate Valentin Dmitrovitch Zukovsky from The World is not Enough. He was in Goldeneye but took a comic turn in TWINE...
(Upon finding Denise Richards in his office...) How did you get in here? I'm going to call Security... and congratulate them.
The insurance company is never going to believe this.
I'm looking for a submarine. It's big and black, and the driver is a very good friend of mine.
But Sheriff J.W. Pepper is probably my favorite funny character. From Live and Let Die:
State Trooper: JW, let me have a word with ya. JW, now this fellow's from London England. He's a Englishman workin' in cooperation with our boys, a sorta... secret agent.
Sheriff J.W. Pepper: Secret agent?! On whose side?!
And because it's DU, from MWTTG:
Maybelle Pepper: Oh look, JW! I just got to have me one of those cute little elephants.
Sheriff J.W. Pepper: (spits) Elephants! We're Democrats, Maybelle.

"Mr Bond! We can do a deal! I'll buy you a delicatessen! In stainless steel!"
Then drops him down a factory chimney stack.

(50,559 posts)If I would have even thought of doing a thousandth of the shit Bond did, they would have pulled my clearance, checked me into Mental Hygiene and made a training film of my exploits titled "Don't Fucking Do This."
