(47,675 posts)I like grabbing leaves off the plant. It's good stuff and not expensive. Every seed sprouts. It also grows well in pots. So do hot peppers for that matter. I recently snarfed down an entire Paper Lantern Hapanero - 450,000 scovile units. It's the only one that has EVER (did I mention "ever" taken me out. DAMN was that fucker hot!!!!!!

(2,391 posts)What do you do with the leaves after you break them off? How do you sweeten the tea? Tea leaves, I get. Stevia leaves....
Help, please? Love tea!

(47,675 posts)When it is dry, it's best to store the leaves whole (tightly sealed jar or ziplock back in a dark place, room temperature). You can crush them and mix them in with other herbs or teas ahead of time or even store them crushed on their own, but the flavor is more intense if you crush them right before use.
You can also use them fresh like you would basil leaves, but obviously for different purposes like on fresh cranberries or grapefruit. Then there's just plucking off a leave out in the garden just to munch on it.

(47,675 posts)That's where we get ours. We grew damn near everything from seed this year.

(47,675 posts)We tried them for the first time this year. Our crop is fighting the impending frost, but still producing. They're also cute.

(118,677 posts)Yes. Some of the teas I've tried really need the sugar taste to make them yummy. I'm next going to try the coconut-mango tea and see if sugar doesn't improve that flavour too.

(2,391 posts)I've read good things about it, but can't find any in bulk, either loose or in bags, to see if I'd really be interested. I hate to buy a can only to find out it's horrible. To me, I mean. So many seem to love it, but I've found many popular teas leave me cold. So to speak.
