Had my first hour of the weight loss session yesterday.

At Lifetime. And it was a full hour on a treadmill at various inclines with some weights and resistance bands. The goal was to raise and lower your heart rate during the hour into various target zones.

For my first time - I KEPT UP WITH THE CLASS AND COMPLETED THE WHOLE THING!

And it was pretty awesome! I was so proud of myself when I walked out of there yesterday morning to head for work.

Tomorrow morning I have the first session with the personal trainer to start working on strength and muscle.

I can't believe I am actually doing this, but I am really happy with this decision.

The more you get you heart rate up, the better your endurance will get. When you get into good cardiovascular condition you can burn more calories in less time. Just make sure to pay close attention to your diet. A moderate pace 1 hour workout burns about 400-500 calories which equals about 2 glazed donuts.

Actually, I've had a problem with not eating nearly enough in the past few months, food has had no appeal or even looks nauseating to me. I'm trying to get at least 1200-1500 calories a day, and am doing better. Back in August, I was lucky to get 800 calories many days. Stress can do that to you.

I have an appointment next Saturday with a dietician, part of this package I signed up for, to set up a diet/eating plan, although basically not hard to do. Then once a week little checkups of 10-15 minutes.

This is especially important if you are exercising. You can actually wind up burning too much muscle mass which is a bad thing. Follow the dietician's advice. You didn't put the weight on overnight so don't expect to lose it that way. If you look at it more as a lifestyle change you will be much better off in the long term.

I couldn't find the clip (found the whole movie), but Arthur comes to visit Martha and she's on the couch with a tea cup watching a really beefy guy in a tight training outfit doing a workout (to a boom box) and all the while encouraging her as if SHE was doing the workout. She has the best look on her face watching the show. It's one of those scenes where you wonder just HOW MANY times they had to shoot it because somebody couldn't avoid laughing.

I fear it will be some super buffed young guy who will just look at me and go, "yeah, right". Except I think the staff there is very well trained, they all seem extremely friendly, professional, and supportive.

I've seen the new one, and it's good, don't get me wrong, but Dudley Moore will always be what I have in my mind when I hear the movie title.

You're a better person than I am, that's for sure. I've got to get myself up and out one of these days. I used to be a great walker, but let that slide over the years.

Congrats!

Your on a roll, keep it up. Working with a trainer is a good thing, you will be doing things right and not injuring yourself. Make sure to eat lots of little meals/healthy snacks during the day.
