They don't like it. If they post something racist, I call them on it. f they post something stupid, I correct them and post links. One person said that it was OK because I was respectful. But others have blocked me.

The best part is I don't know these people from Adam, they are just fellow gamers.

They're old friends from HS, recently rediscovered, and, much to my horror, I've discovered a number have gone fundy and/or tea party. These were normal, good people! Now they're posting horrific lies and racist crap. It's very disheartening to see such a transformation, especially from a Blue state. I live in a Red state now, I'm used to it here. I was very much caught off guard with them, though.

racist, born again or just plain too right wing. Maybe they were like that in HS but I didn't notice?

It's a lot more fun than talking in an echo chamber. We should have a cross ideology forum here.

but I have taken them out of my feed, except for better friends or cousins/family...
my mother and aunt are liberals, thank god...I just don't read through conservative family member's stuff. I stick to commenting on family stuff.

Now, most of my friends are liberal like me and support Obama.

But I am amazed at how some otherwise brilliant, compassionate, hardworking, great people support Romney.

I have about 600 people on Facebook, and I don't really want to un-friend anyone. Not everyone is a real friend. I have lots of music colleagues and some 'fans' there too. I'm not famous or anything, but between music friends and fans, 12 step, church, party politics, and cousins (i have gobs of 2nd and 3rd cousins) and living in the same area for my entire life...I know lots of people.
There are even more people I could add, but haven't, such as high school friends...or even more music colleagues that we know of each other but haven't actually met.

I don't post political things on my page because I want anyone to feel welcome to come see my play...I don't see any reason to comment on conservative posts, as I'm not interested in stirring things up.
I will comment on other liberal friends posts....but I ignore right-wing posts.

Facebook is a useful tool for me. I don't comment on the right wing crap political stuff so I don't waste my time.
