William Friedkin makes some shocking claims in this interview.

He was interviewed about his film, "Sorcerer", and in discussing some of the film studios who were involved in producing and distributing the film, he seems to make the claim that some film studios today attempt to suppress their legacy of great films as a means of getting audiences to watch NEW films (with the exception, he says, of Warner Brothers). !!! It's about a 12 minute interview; Friedkin discusses this stuff at length beginning at 2:10 but specifically listen to it beginning at about 4:25.

Thoughts?

By the way, that film is an excellent one - I think Netflix has it available.
