To get your name to show when you call anyone, you have to take some action, different action depending on whether it's a cell or a landline, and also on who your service provider is. To get someone else's name to show on your phone, putting them in your contacts usually works for both cell and land lines. That's a Reader's Digest version - you can do a search if you need something more specific.

I use my landline exclusively for incoming and will not answer if Idon'trecofnize the name or ifi t's just a number - or just a city name.
