I remember when professional boxing was deemed to too brutal, so rules were changed. They cut the number....

......of rounds down to 12 or so, increased the weight of the gloves so they weren't as hard, instituted the standing eight count and some other changes. Now we have gone in the other direction with increasing brutal martial arts that look more and more like gladitorial combat.

... https://surprisesports.com/boxing/do-boxing-gloves-cause-more-damage/

Boxing gloves can cause more damage due to increased force and protection for the wearer’s hands. In combat sports like boxing, gloves are designed to provide cushioning and reduce the risk of injuries. Still, they also allow fighters to generate more power, potentially leading to more damaging blows.

Additionally, the padding in gloves can create a larger surface area for impact, spreading the force over a wider area and increasing the likelihood of injury to the recipient.

As a result, boxers must be trained to strike appropriately and aim to minimize the risk of causing significant harm to their opponents.

Taking these factors into account, boxing gloves have the potential to cause more damage compared to bare-knuckle fighting.

is "Power Slap". No defense. Just absorbing very hard slaps to the face/ear. Horrible!

I was going to post a clip, but I won't give them any promotion or clicks.
