Good morning my DU family,

Taste is such an important ingredient in our learning and our pleasure. It is with that in mind that I wish you all a day that is delicious to your senses.
Love, John

Taste…interesting…the last few days the wild asparagus around the homestead has been prolific. Cream of asparagus with spring pea soup was on the menu then asparagus and caramelized onions over portobello mushroom caps. Then the ‘bestest’ of all flavors is coming in the next few days…The first taste of summer, wild strawberries. We usually get a rare few about the size of a green pea…but the intensity of the flavor is soul shaking, you’ll remember it forever.
Enjoying the taste of nature…at no cost.

I spent the morning in plant stores, helping my sister to replenish her yard and buying some new beauties for mine as well. It was a great way to start the day and it was overcast and breezy so not as hot as it can be early on a FL summer morning. Hope your day has beauty in it as well.

I got up late, still enjoying coffee after breakfast, sitting here in my living room after sliding the glass door open. Lovely breeze and bird song.

I like to fix large breakfasts for company, but if it's just for myself, it's simple. Berries with a cup of Daisy cottage cheese (usually frozen blueberries, enough to cover the bottom of a Corelle bowl, thawed in the microwave). More fruit then, most likely a banana or half a cantaloupe. Maybe cereal. OJ. Milk. Coffee. Plenty of potassium and protein. 26 grams of protein in the cottage cheese for only 220 calories. It does have more sodium than potassium, but the fruit balances that out.
